Meet Erin Wade. After completing her law degree at Berkeley, Erin was working as a lawyer in the San Francisco Bay area. Although she had worked her way through law school and found a good job doing what she was supposed to be doing, she was miserable. It was during this time that the idea of Homeroom restaurant began. And roughly a year later, Homeroom restaurant opened its doors and began serving the Macaroni and Cheese recipes it is known for. Homeroom is now a thriving business with over 100 employees, a great workplace culture and consistent lines out the door. In this episode, we’ll hear from Erin about how she built such a positive workplace culture, how she walked away from her promising career as a lawyer to pursue her dream, and how she and her team have built a new sexual harassment system for her workers that has drastically reduced incidents of sexual harassment by customers against her team members.
